SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 34

Wiedebusch, Wooton and Yoder)
Recognizing the dedicated public service of Billie Ann Auer, chief
desk clerk of the Senate and distinguished West Virginian.
Whereas, Billie Ann Auer was born August 14, 1939, in
Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Benjamin Felton
and Margaret (Roberts) Coleman; and
Whereas, Billie Ann Auer began her service to the Senate of
West Virginia in January, 1973, as administrative assistant to
former Senate President William T. Brotherton, Jr.; and
Whereas, In July, 1979, Billie Ann Auer joined the staff of
the Clerk of the Senate as journal and bill clerk. Her knowledge
and expertise in the legislative process quickly advanced her to
associate journal editor status and, in 1986, she was appointed as
chief desk clerk; and
Whereas, Billie Ann Auer is married to her beloved husband, J.C. Auer. She is the mother of one daughter, Kacie (Mullins)
Gillam and the proud grandmother of one granddaughter, Meghan Lynn
Gillam; and
Whereas, Billie Ann Auer has decided to retire from public
service on April 30, 1996, bringing to an end her twenty-three
years of dedicated service to the Senate; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby extends its heartfelt appreciation to
Billie Ann Auer for her many years of dedicated service to the West
Virginia Senate. Her commitment to the Senate, together with her
knowledge and expertise of the legislative process has, over her
twenty-three years of dedicated service, been an inspiration to
those who have known and worked with her; and, be it

That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Billie Ann Auer.
